Following a series of disappointing results, there is, at last, some good news for the Everton fans. Winger Yannick Bolasie is on his way to full fitness as he is recovering from a knee injury suffered way back in December. A rigorous process has gone behind his rehab and the 29-year-old has started to set the ball rolling. The winger is back on his feet after a long time and has been involved in light training for recently.

It would need some time for him to be back to full fitness but considering his approach, he might be ready for a return somewhere around Christmas. He moved to the Goodison Park from Crystal Palace in 2016 for £25m but before he started to find his space, he suffered this horrific knee injury.

The Toffees have endured a nightmare as Ronald Koeman has failed to guide his team to the much-desired destination. The Dutch gaffer was supposed to carry forward the project which he kicked off last season.

The Merseyside club finished in seventh position which was Koeman’s maiden season at Goodison Park and the supporters were hoping for a better performance since the club hierarchy invested so heavily in the summer to provide Koeman with a more than capable squad.

But somehow, for some reason, results aren’t coming and the gaffer has been under tremendous pressure to deliver. With Bolasie now ready for action it could be a much-needed boost for the boss.

The 28-year-old shared his view on his injury. “I’m just happy to be back out there and moving about the way I can

“I’m getting stronger by the day and I’m looking forward to coming back.”

Koeman needs some strong players to lift the whole side and Bolasie could be that man. The winger will add variety to the side and Koeman must use him smartly. Bolasie also needs to prove his allegiance to the club so the player himself will be charged up and it could affect the performance of the whole side, in a positive way.

Players like Gylfi Sigurdsson have been struggling to settle in and Bolasie could ease the pressure on them. The Toffees are also aiming to put their Europa League disappointment aside and are ready for a fresh start. And for that, Koeman might need the help of Bolasie.

At his age, he is an established star and can make an immediate impact but can he save Everton’s season?
