It was matchday three in the Champions League, which witnessed the mega clash between two of the best sides in European football vie against each other. Manchester City and Napoli crossed swords at the Etihad Stadium to get the better of each other and clinch a victory from the match.

Both the sides are in immaculate form, to say the least, in domestic as well as European circuits and both sets of fans were in for a great show. However, the first round went in favour of the Citizens by a margin of 2-1.

The Best & Worst Manchester City Players Rated From Their Win Vs Napoli

Ederson- 7

Played well to keep the Napoli attackers at bay and saved a very crucial penalty. Could have emerged as the hero for the side but conceded a late goal from another spot-kick.

Kyle Walker- 6

Was involved in the first goal as the provider of the assist for Raheem Sterling to make it 1-0 in favour of Manchester City. However, his unnecessary tackle to haul down Raul Albiol to concede a penalty will certainly go against him.

John Stones- 6

Played well enough once again to ensure three points for his side. Was solid as a rock at the heart of the defence and helped to keep the opponents at bay.

Nicolas Otamendi- 6

Played in tandem with the English centre-back in the backline and helped his side to clinch three points from the match as well. Hailed as a perfect replacement for Vincent Kompany so far.

Fabian Delph- 7

Continued his good run as a left back. Has been the ideal replacement for Benjamin Mendy so far this term and might have to carry on the good work for some more matches as well.

Fernandinho- 5

Vied well in the middle of the pitch but was far away from the performance he showed during the weekend against Stoke City. Was involved in the second half penalty to hand the away goal advantage to Napoli.

David Silva- 7

“El Capitan” was once again fantastic in his approach to making it a famous win for his side, marshalling his troops and bringing out his best possible performance in the Champions League.

Kevin De Bruyne- 8

Was once again magnificent in the middle of the pitch to get his team going against the Serie A league leaders. Provided an assist to help Gabriel Jesus score the winner for his side.

Raheem Sterling- 9

Opened the scoring for his side and made it possible to keep their 100 percent record this season intact so far in the Champions League.

Leroy Sane- 8

Dished out another brilliant performance to make sure of enough supply of quality balls in the opposition box and help his teammates.

Gabriel Jesus- 9

Scored the goal that went onto to stand as the difference between the two sides in another all-important match for his side in the Champions League and helped his side to maintain their position at the top of the table.

Bernardo Silva – NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.

Ilkay Gundogan- NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.

Danilo- NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.
