Swansea City lost their last match against Newcastle United in their last encounter in the Premier League by 1-0, which makes it two losses in the last four games for the Welsh side since the start of the season. The disappointing result has led them to currently stand at the 15th place in the league table and they will have to work hard to bounce back in the forthcoming matches.
The man in charge at the Liberty Stadium, Paul Clement, brought a superstar to make his side stronger right on the last day of the summer transfer window in the form of Portuguese winger Renato Sanches.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly rated young players in the recent past and went on to join the German giants Bayern Munich after his national team’s triumph in Euro 2016. However, the dream was short lived, as the youngster faced the hard reality of European top flight, as he could not perform well in the Bundesliga and was benched for most of the season.
He was unable to score a single goal for the Bavarians during his stay at the Allianz Arena and was eventually sent on loan to Swansea City during the recently concluded summer transfer window.
At the Liberty Stadium as well, things don’t look to have changed much for the Portuguese youngster, as he could not find his golden touch for his new team and was unable to lead them to victory in his first match. A section of the fans was not at all happy with the player and are already wanting their club to make him sit on the bench.
Regarded as one of the best young talents in the whole of Europe, Sanches is known for his lightning pace and quick footwork which has made it difficult for a number of top class defenders who have not been able to contain him in the past at club as well as international level. Given the right guidance, the player might once again get his form and help the Swans to get back into the League strongly.
The fans of the Welsh club have their right to be disappointed with the young Portuguese but they should also understand that he needs to settle down and will need time for that in the forthcoming matches of the Premier League. Once he finds his form, he can turn into a natural match winner, who can help Swansea closer to the top half of the table.
