Everton are in need of some serious revamping of their team, having failed to score more than two goals this season so far in all competitions. They have been completely out of sorts in the present situation and are placed at the 18th position in the Premier League table making it one of the worst seasons so far for them in the recent past.
The man in charge at the Goodison Park, Ronald Koeman, has been looking to add strength to their side for the new season, having already brought in two of the finest strikers in the form of Wayne Rooney from Manchester United and Sandro Ramirez from Malaga. Both the players have failed to impress so far this season, leaving their gaffer with no other option but to look for a new player in the next transfer window.
Reportedly, the wily Dutchman has his eyes on the Mexican striker Raul Jimenez and is willing to add him to his side as soon as possible. The 26-year-old striker is currently plying his trade for the Portuguese club Benfica and has been the potential transfer target for a number of clubs from all over Europe.
The Mexican international has been one of the most dependable goal scorers for his club as well as country and is considered as a prized possession at his current outfit Benfica. However, he might be interested in a move to the Premier League in the forthcoming transfer window, with the Merseyside club in the calling.
This is not the first time that the Toffees are looking to bag Jimenez. They had tried to sign the player during the last season as well but the deal fell through due to the negative response of the Portuguese champions Benfica. This time around, they might once again look to bring in the player with a substantial bid that might be too hard to resist for the Mexican marksman.
The 26-year-old is known for his brilliant skills and darting runs into the heart of the opposition defence, bamboozling the defenders with his swift footwork, He is equally adept at scoring from open play as well as from set-piece situations and can turn out to be one of the best signings for the Toffees in the forthcoming transfer window.
The Merseyside club is well aware of the fact that they will need to perform much better than what they are doing now and will need to score goals to get points in their bag, which is their only way to revive the season. Jimenez will not help them anytime soon but can he be an option for the future?
