Tottenham Hotspur has been one of the best teams in the last few seasons, having shown enough promise to establish themselves as one of the potential contenders to win the Premier League. With a proper balance of youth and experience in their team, Spurs are one of the most highly regarded sides in English football, taking themselves to a whole new level in the Premier League standings, constantly qualifying for the top four in the league table.
However, their form has been somewhat mixed in this season, having incurred two draws and two wins in their first five matches so far, while bowing out to their only substantially tough opponent Chelsea by 2-1 in only their second match of the campaign. This has created conspicuousness among their, who want them to win their matches in the forthcoming days, to make it a successful season in terms of results and hopefully lay a hand on the much-coveted silverware in English football, the Premier League trophy.
Spurs are not devoid of good players in their side, helping them to achieve the goal of winning the Premier League in the new season. However, they will have to find a consistency of the highest level if they are to go all the way this season. It will not be an easy task and here are three players who need to step up, if they are to entertain another title challenge this season:
Harry Kane-
The English international has been in prolific goalscoring form in the last two seasons and has clinched the “Golden Boot” award in both the previous seasons. Being the highest goal scorer for his side in the last two seasons, it goes without saying that the player will have to put on his scoring shoes if they are to have any chance of winning the Premier League or at least finishing in the top four.
Dele Alli-
The youngster has been a revelation in English football since his arrival at the club in 2015. Under the benevolent tutelage of their Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino, Dele has become one of the most dependable figures in Spurs’ lineup and has to take the onus of scoring goals and help them win the Premier League this season.
Christian Eriksen-
The Swedish attacker has been one of the best players in the Premier League since his arrival at the North London club in 2013 and has proved his mettle in scoring crucial goals and laying down useful assists for his teammates in the last few seasons consistently. He will surely have to play a very important role in the lineup if the Spurs have to achieve something substantial in this season.
