Tottenham Hotspur will look to start their season right from where they ended in the last term, right on the threshold of winning the Premier League for the first time in their history. However, they will, of course, like to cut their shortcomings and end up clinching the title rather than finishing at the second position, as they did in the last term.
Mauricio Pochettino, the boss, is probably looking to stick with the same lineup, and why not? The North London club conceded the fewest number and scored the highest number, of goals of course, and made it one of the most memorable seasons for them in recent times. However, he might need some reinforcements, especially at the back, with one of his mainstays in defence, Kyle Walker, leaving the side during the summer transfer market to join the Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Strength-
The main strength of the Spurs side lies with its strike force. With Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Heung Min Son, the runners-up from last season have one of the most lethal attacks in not only the Premier League but also in Europe. While the English striker Kane won the Golden Boot for most goals in a season for two consecutive terms, the young attacker Dele Alli, another young Englishman is also in red hot form. Son has also made his name as one of the spearheads in the attack in the last term and will be looking to continue his good form in this season as well.
Weakness-
With the departure of English full back, Kyle Walker and the injury concern of another right back Kieran Trippier, the North London club is in need of a top class right back who can defend well along with making it possible for them to initiate counter attacks whenever the ball is in possession. The need for a good enough centre back in place of the Austrian flop Kevin Wimmer is also needed, who might be a good back-up for the Belgian pair of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.
Key Men-
Undoubtedly, the highest scorer of the last term in the Premier League with 29 goals, Harry Kane will once again be the player to watch out for in the Spurs camp. Along with him, compatriot Dele Alli will also play a very important role, as he did in the last term for the North London club.
Expectations-
With one of the best-attacking lineups in European football in the current scenario, it is expected that Tottenham Hotspur will produce a gallant performance and will look to one-up their performance and win the Premier League this season.
