Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing A Move For This Spanish Sensation: Can Pochettino Pull This Off?

Tottenham Hotspur made a winning start to their Premier League campaign but that does not hide the fact that they have failed to improve on their squad from the previous season. With less than two weeks left in the transfer market, Mauricio Pochettino is now getting desperate and has been linked with a move for a variety of stars in the last couple of days.

He has failed to land his top transfer targets but Pochettino is now looking to sign Barcelona star Denis Suarez this summer. According to a story from Spanish news outfit Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur have offered €30m for his services this summer.

The report claims that the player is ready for an exit, amidst lack of regular playing time and it is understood that Serie A giants Napoli are also interested in his signature and are ready to meet his valuation. So is Suarez an option for Spurs?

The 23-year old is one of the most exciting attackers in world football at the moment and was a part of the squad at the Etihad for two years before joining the Catalan giants. He failed to make a single senior appearance in England but has ever since, established himself as a star at the Camp Nou.

With 90 La Liga appearances and 22 Europa League appearances to go with his maiden international cap for Spain, the young winger is a player many teams will want in their squad.

Known for his technique on the ball and ability to create chances from a wide area, Suarez is a versatile player who can also play through the middle with similar effect. He has to work on his strength and finishing if he wants to be a hit in England but at the moment, his attributes are a perfect fit for Pochettino, who is ready to spend on him.

Suarez can play as an attacking winger, creating chances galore with his passing and vision in the final third. He is not an easy player to mark and is not a player who many English defenders will want to face this season.

Pochettino’s side are without a genuine left-sided winger as the likes of Eric Lamela, Sissoko, Heung-Min Son or Vincent Janssen have all failed to show enough promise to cement a place in the starting XI. At just 23 and with a lack of experience in England, Suarez might not be able to walk into the first team straight away but his style of play is perfect for what Spurs want to achieve and could turn into a super star in years to come.
