The current Champions League winners Real Madrid will be taking on the present Europa League champions Manchester United in a clash of titans in the UEFA Super Cup that will be taking place tomorrow at the Philip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia. Both the teams are looking forward to lifting the trophy and will be raring to go against each other in their first competitive match of the new season.
Both the teams are having some of the best players in their line-up and have been doing quite well in the pre-season friendly matches. They met each other during one such match in the USA, which went in favour of the Red Devils via a penalty shoot out.
The Galacticos will be looking forward to getting their hands on the first trophy of the season and they will be having a huge boost in their favour, as they will have their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo back in their line-up after missing the pre-season tour. The former Manchester United player will also be looking forward to show off his skills and score some goals against his old club.
This is how Real Madrid might line-up in the forthcoming UEFA Super Cup clash-
The Galacticos might be looking to implement their old four man backline as they did in their all conquering last season. Carvajal is supposed to start in the right back position with Marcelo in the left back slot, and the heart of the defence for Los Blancos might contain the likes of Raphael Varane and club captain Sergio Ramos. However, there is a possibility that the French full back Theo Hernandez might feature in place of Marcelo in the match.
The midfield should feature the usual three man combination as they have always done throughout the last season. Casemiro, Modric and Kroos are supposed to be starting for the Galacticos in the match and will be looking to make it another success in European competitions. Kovacic might also be used as a substitute in the line-up to see how much ready he is to face the big name clubs in the new season.
One of the most lethal attacks in European football, with arguably the best forward in the world, will be looking to fire up things for sure against the Manchester United side in the Super Cup. Apart from Ronaldo, Benzema will also be playing a very crucial part in spearheading the attack while Spanish youngster Isco should be starting the proceedings for the Real Madrid side. Gareth Bale might miss out with an injury scare.
