Burnley showed a fairly determined effort in the last season to stay back in the top flight for one more term, finishing the season in the 16th position on the league table.

The Clarets have been looking to bring in quite a few players from the Premier League as well as the Championship in order to build a strong team for the next season.

The man in charge at Turf Moor, Sean Dyche, has been eyeing the young forward Britt Assombalonga from the Championship side Nottingham Forest for the next season.

He has been one of the main players to spearhead the attack for Forest in the last few seasons since joining them three years ago from Peterborough United.

The 24-year-old has been one of the most influential players for the Championship outfit and has scored on 30 occasions in the 47 appearances he made for his club. Mark Warburton, the current manager in charge at Nottingham Forest has been looking to keep hold of his prized possession, but with the Premier League club Burnley lurking with their lucrative offer to bag the youngster, it is going to be quite tough for the new coach to hold on to his prized possession for the next season.

Assombalonga came into his current side three years ago for a price of £5.5 million and has since been an integral part of the outfit with his skills and power to consider himself one of the top strikers currently playing in the Championship.

The English youngster is known for his pacy runs into the heart of the defence, making cuts into attacking third and scoring goals from both long range and close range. He is also known for assisting his teammates and providing opportunities to score goals to hand his team the advantage.

Sean Dyche has been wary about the future of his club in the Premier League, as he has already lost his mainstay in the defence Michael Keane to Everton and might have to rethink his strategies to make a good season out of the next.

He is also looking for a new player who can be able to spearhead his attack for the next season, and the 24-year-old striker from Nottingham Forest can be the perfect fit.

Reportedly, the Premier League club is looking to make a bid of £8 million to bring in Assombalonga into the team. However, it is subject to the willingness of the player and his club Nottingham Forest whether they will accept the offer or not.
