Mauricio Pochettino Spurs side is one of the most consistent sides in the current domestic league. But they are no closer to silverware this season and Pochettino will have to do something different to help them take the next step next season. This has seen him linked with a number of star players for a move this summer and the latest name on the radar is Spanish star, Sandro Ramirez.
According to reports today, Merseyside duo Everton and Liverpool along with Tottenham Hotspur have already made official bids for the player for a move this summer. The 21-year old is a product of the La Masia academy, where he played more than 60 games for the Barcelona B side before moving on to the senior side. However, he spent just a season in the senior side, making less than 20 appearances before being sold to Malaga at the start of the current season.
He has been productive for the La Liga outfit, scoring 15 goals and picking up three assists in all competitions this season and is also on the fringes of getting a call-up for the national team. These performances have seen Spurs scout him consistently in recent times.
A genuine target man, who knows his way to goal, Sandro is one of the most exciting finishers in the La Liga at the moment and is destined for great things in the future. At just 21, he has already learnt the art of free-kicks to perfection and his long-range shooting also keeps fans on their toes. He is adept at making short passes to create chances for his team but is at his best when playing and leading the attacking line for his side.
He is ready to take blows for his team, and hold up the ball when needed and is perfect for the Premier League. He may still have to learn to be dominant in the air, but Pochettino seems convinced that he is the perfect backup for Harry Kane next season.
The English international is among the best finishers in world football at the moment and is the first choice for Spurs. However, he will not be able to play in all four competitions regularly and Pochettino needs another striker who can replicate the English star’s efforts in front of goal. Though Heung-Min Son has been productive, Vincent Janssen has been less than impressive and the Spurs definitely need a player who can walk into the first team in the absence of Kane.
There are very few options in the transfer market to play such a role, better than Sandro this summer. The former Barcelona man has enough experience to be able to adjust to the English league and unlike Janssen, he has proven himself in a tougher league, which gives us a fair picture of the player’s abilities. Surely Sandro Ramirez could be a saviour for the Spurs next season.
