Arsenal have ended their current season on a high by winning the FA Cup for the thirteenth time in their history. However, it has been a far from satisfactory performance for the Gunners in the English Premier League this term, which has seen them miss a finish in the top four for the first time since 1996 and hence, they will not be playing in the Champions League next season.
Reportedly, Arsene Wenger, their influential manager, has signed a new two-year deal contract with the Gunners. He has already chalked out plans to bring in a number of players for the new season, with a view to strengthen his side and book a place back in the Champions League for the next season.
With a number of options at his disposal, the French mastermind has stuck his eyes on the Turkish midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, who is currently playing for the Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas and has earned himself the reputation of an intelligent midfielder in the European circuit. His playing style and match reading abilites have caught the eyes of many clubs from the Premier League including Leicester City as well.
Ozyakup has been a former player for Arsenal before he made the switch to his native country. The 24-year-old was a part of the club for a significant amount of time but was kept on the sidelines most of the time. This lack of outings led the Turkish youngster to consider a move back to his homeland and join his current club Besiktas.
Oguzhan Ozyakup has been an influential figure for the Turkish club since his arrival. The 24-year-old, along with very strong passing and dribbling qualities, also has the ability to provide a number of valuable assists into the attacking third for his teammates to score goals. The young midfielder also has the ability to score from both set piece situations and open play, along with the ability to unleash a very dangerous long range shot to bamboozle the opposition goalkeeper to find the back of the net.
Reportedly, the Turkish midfielder has been linked with moves to last season’s Premier League champions Leicester City as well. Besiktas’ President Fikret Omran has said that if he will let go off his prized possession, he will only let him leave for a top class club, whether it is in the Premier League or anywhere else. He also has said that he will not let Ozyakup leave unless there is a good offer as well.
