Jose Mourinho is now growing desperate by the day for transfer targets as a couple of his first choice players have already decided on their futures. The manager bought Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club at the start of the season and the Swede has been in devastating form, standing as the top goalscorer for the club.
And though he might extend his stay yet, he is not an option twice a week and Mourinho is looking at a number of other players for a move in the summer. The likes of Antoine Griezmann and Romelu Lukaku have constantly been linked with a move to the Old Trafford but Mourinho has not been able to find any progress in trying to lure them to the club. This has seen him look elsewhere and according to reports today, he is ready to break the bank for one Andrea Belotti.
Standing as one of the most effective strikers in Europe at the moment, Belotti is possibly the closest challenger for the Golden Boot for Lionel Messi at Barcelona and is one of the most exciting players in the sport. He is a genuine goal scorer who has seen a meteoric rise in his quality and value in recent times. Belotti has 24 goals and four assists in all competitions this season and is the leading goal scorer in Italy.
He has been unstoppable for Torino this season and has also earned his place in the Italian national, where he is now the first choice striker. At 23, he is an exciting prospect for the future and has been linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs recently.
Known for his extraordinary finishing abilities, Belotti is a fine all-round striker who can act as a target man if needed. But he is more adept in a free-flowing style where he can get involved in the build up before finding space to score goals in the final third.
Strong in the air, Belotti is a real handful for even the best defenders around while his strength in hold up play makes him all the more fruitful in front of goal. All at the age of 23, Belotti is easily one of the finest strikers in world football at the moment and it does not come as a surprise that Mourinho is ready to spend big on him in the summer.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford will stay at the club next season but Mourinho needs a player who can relieve Zlatan of his duties and the Torino man is as good an option as any.
Though he has not real experience in England, Belotti and his attributes look tailor-made for the Premier League and Mourinho will know that he can turn into a legendary player for the Red Devils in the future.
