Manager- Pep Guardiola
Though Arsene Wenger has spent way more years in the Premier League and has won more titles than his opponent in England, Pep Guardiola gets the nod this time because of the current turmoil the Frenchman is going through. Apart from that, Guardiola has an edge in head-to-head stats with Wenger.
Goalkeeper-Willy Caballero
Though he hasn’t been a starter for City for the most part of the season, he has shown his consistency in the little chances he has got of late. Compared to Arsenal’s David Ospina, he has been more assuring under the bar.
Right-back- Hector Bellerin
The Spaniard pretty much ticks this bracket opposed to any team in the Premier League. His pace on and off the ball and composure way beyond his young age makes Bellerin the best full-back in England at the moment. In an open game like against City, he could be devastating.
Right Centre-Back- Nicolas Otamendi
The Argentine has been a beast at the back this season, so far. Arguably the only defender to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s blueprint properly, his physicality and calmness on the ball makes him a huge asset to have in the team.
Left Centre-Back- Laurent Koscielny
The French centre-half has been Arsenal’s most consistent player at the back till now. His game reading abilities and assured protection of the goal will make any manager want to have him. Over the years, he has developed to be one of the best centre-backs of England.
Left-Back – Gael Clichy
The former Arsenal player definitely didn’t have a decent season by his standards, but still, looks way more assuring than Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal or Kieran Gibbs. While he has been disappointing in City’s European campaign, he has looked solid in the Premier League.
Central Midfielder- Granit Xhaka
The Swiss international could only show his abilities in bits and pieces this season but it doesn’t hide his ability to be one of the best registas in the Premier League if given the chance. His ability to find the ball from the deep midfield is unparalleled and his long-range shooting is a treat to watch.
Left-Attacking Midfielder- Kevin De Bruyne
The Belgian has been City’s best player since joining from Bundesliga. His sublime dribbling skills and ability to find gaps in congested areas is unbelievable.
Right-Attacking Midfielder- Mesut Ozil
Although not in the very best of forms at the moment, the German playmaker is still one of the best chance-creator in the league.
Left-Wing- Alexis Sanchez
His current form makes him all the more dangerous when going forward. He can create chances from anywhere on the field and his successful international break hints that he is raring to go.
Right-Wing- Raheem Sterling
The English winger has been revived under Pep Guardiola. His pace on the ball and quick turns in and around the box makes him tremendously dangerous.
Centre-Forward- Sergio Aguero
One of the most clinical finishers in the league, Aguero surely makes the cut in this line-up. He is often alleged of not working hard, but so many players behind him to do that, he has to do the only thing he does best- score.
