West Ham United are exploring all the options to take on board in the January transfer window as they look to recover from their precarious start to the season. Midway through this season, they currently find themselves in the 13th spot but the points difference is such that any defeat will see them spiral further down.

The summer transfer window was a disastrous one for the Hammers where their lusty approach for a world-class striker saw them ignore other areas of the pitch and ultimately they have had to pay the price.

Also, the injuries have come at unfortunate moments for them and the likes of Cresswell, Carroll, Lanzini and the whole department of right-backs have put up a no-show due to it.

With the January window in full swing, they have again seen a number of targets slip through their fingers. A lot of pressure has been put on the likes of Antonio and Dimitri Payet to come up with the goods in the attacking areas and while Antonio has been able to come up with the goods, a burn-out before the end of the season cannot be ruled out. He has been asked to play at right-back, at right wingback, on the wings and also as a striker.

Hull City v Crystal Palace - Premier League

Payet hasn’t been at his best and seems half-hearted in his displays this season. He hasn’t performed on a consistent basis and with the big teams being linked with him, a move away in the near future looks likely.

And hence the reports linking them with Scottish winger Robert Snodgrass doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Snodgrass has been the creator-in-chief for the Tigers this season and if offered with a move away, he will certainly consider the move.

Hull City are struggling badly and are stuck to the bottom of the table. With new boss Marco Silva admitting that a miracle is needed for them to avoid relegation, there is a chance that they might look to cash in on their star player.

West Ham want Snodgrass to come into the club as they seek to reverse the slump in form which has seen than have a disappointing first season at the Olympic Stadium.

They see the 29-year-old Scottish international as the ideal type of player to add strength to the side after failing in the transfer market last summer.

With Zaza and Calleri on their way out and with Gokhan Tore out with a long-term injury, Snodgrass will bolster their attacking options. He can play across the front and given his experience in the Premier League, will not be much of a gamble.
