Tottenham steamrolled Watford 4-1 as they continued their excellent record against the Hornets in a rather one-sided encounter at Vicarage Road. Tottenham led 3-0 in the first-half with two goals from Harry Kane and one from Dele Alli. Alli scored early in the second half to kill the game off completely.
Pochettino subbed off his important players with the midweek Chelsea game in mind. Watford pulled one back in the stoppage time through Younes Kaboul. Below are Tottenham’s individual player ratings.
Hugo Lloris
Rating: 7
The Frenchman didn’t really have much to do between the sticks for majority of the game. He tried his best to save Kaboul’s goal but wasn’t able to.
Kieran Trippier
Rating: 8.5
Trippier had an excellent offensive game as he put in some really good crosses into the box and was rewarded with two assists. He put Harry Kane through with a good pass for the first goal and whipped in a beautiful cross for the second one.
Toby Alderweireld
Rating: 8
The Belgian seemed a bit rusty but did a great job nonetheless. With his regular partner Jan Vertonghen missing out through suspension he struggled to establish the usual composure at the back.
Eric Dier
Rating: 7.5
Dier too was decent throughout the game as he put in some decent tackles and was also quite effective with his distribution.
Kevin Wimmer
Rating: 7.5
Kevin Wimmer had a decent game as he not only helped Tottenham play from the back but also go long when needed with some good cross-field balls.
Danny Rose
Rating: 8
Rose not only gave Watford’s wing-back Nordin Amrabat a really tough time but also showed some good defensive aptitude.
