Manchester United Star Wins The PFA Premier League Player Of The Month For December

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been awarded the PFA Fans Premier League player for the month of December. Zlatan beats Adam Lallana, Dele Alli, Jordan Pickford, Cesar Azpilicueta and Dimitri Payet for the prestigious award.

Zlatan has been the force behind United’s turnaround in form of late. The Swede has scored 13 goals in the English top flight with seven goals coming in the last eight matches.

He got 24,092 votes out of the total 64000 votes while Liverpool’s Lallana and Chelsea’s Azpilicueta came second and third with 17,935 and 11,944 votes respectively. Tottenham’s Dele Alli (5,863), Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (2,874) and West Ham’s Dimitri Payet (1,264) completed the top six.

Zlatan arrived from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and at the age of 35, he is proving his worth every game week. United hierarchy are so pleased with his dedication and performance that they are ready to trigger his one-year extension clause and are also expected to offer him a coaching role to keep him at the club for a longer time.
