Considering the season Leicester City had last time out, it was always expected that they would never be able to sustain their form. No one expected a title defence from the Foxes but who would have expected that they will follow up their title-winning campaign with such a horrendous showing this season.

The Foxes were once close to the danger zone and even though they have managed to pick up their game a bit, it is unlikely that Leicester City will finish even in the top half unless they come up with an inspiring fightback in the second half.

Leicester City, being active in the January transfer window makes sense considering the fact that Ranieri will be keen to restore the pride of the Premier League holders as much as possible. The Daily Mail claims Norwich City have received two bids in the region of £10m for their prized asset Robbie Brady and one of those was from Leicester City.

A player of Brady’s calibre attracting interest from the Premier League is not at all surprising but does Leicester City need Brady? Well, a player gifted with versatility as much as Brady could be an asset to any club and the same goes for the Foxes but it seems unlikely that the Irishman will get regular playing time at the King Power Stadium.

Brady is equally capable of plying his trade on the left flank and at left-back but is unlikely to be the first-choice in either of those two positions.

At left-back, Leicester City have two quality options. One is Christian Fuchs who is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League when it comes to creating chances from the left-back position. Ben Chilwell is more than capable of deputising for the Austrian in the left-back position. So, Brady’s versatility is unlikely to be needed.

Now, let us talk about his natural left-wing position. On the left flank, Leicester City have players like Marc Albrighton, Ahmed Musa and Demarai Gray and it is hard to see how Brady will slot into the team.

Still only 24, Brady has a big future ahead of himself and deserves a Premier League switch but Leicester City is not his ideal destination. Regular gametime is what should be attracting him.
