Why Leeds United Should Absolutely Go For The Transfer Of This Norwich City Star

Garry Monk’s magic has worked pretty well thus far at Leeds United since he took over the Yorkshire-based club. After so many years, the fallen giants of English football are truly in the race for promotion. Monk has proved to be the man capable enough of waking up the sleeping giant namely Leeds United and if things go their way, the Whites could very well see themselves back in the Premier League next campaign.

Leeds are right now fifth on the table and the least they could hope for is to achieve a playoff spot by the end of the season. Well, why not try for something bigger? Leeds can still challenge for an automatic promotion in coming months. We have seen Newcastle United, who once looked unbeatable, experiencing a dip in form and even Brighton and Hove Albion can experience that. If Monk’s boys can stay focused and win as many games as possible, they still can finish in top two.

Monk seems to be in the market to add more quality to his squad and one of those positions those need additions, is the wide areas. Sky Sports claims that Leeds are preparing a raid on fellow Championship club Norwich City as they are looking to lure youngster Sergi Canos from Carrow Road. Once touted as the next big thing when he was at Liverpool, Canos found first-team football hard to get under Alex Neil this season since switching to the Canaries.

Even though Canos has not been able to justify his reputation at Norwich, he still could be a brilliant signing at Elland Road. Well, Leeds certainly need additions in the wide areas, don’t they? Hadi Sacko is at the club only on loan from Sporting CP while Kemar Roofe has been used mostly as a number ten. Stuart Dallas is more of a left winger while Pablo Hernandez has also shifted to a central role with his age. So, an out and out right winger like Canos would be a good addition.

Canos’ football education was from two of Europe’s best academies Barcelona and then Liverpool. He was rated very highly at Anfield and they regarded him as a key player for the future but Canos wanted first-team football which is why he made a move to Norwich in the summer. Last season, he was on loan at Brentford where he excelled in the Championship.

Canos desperately needs a move away from Carrow Road as he is seemingly not being particularly rated by Alex Neil. Monk is known as a patient manager and knows how to work with young players. Canos could very well find his best in Leeds’ colours. It could be a brilliant move for the Whites.
