Chelsea have reportedly accepted an offer of £5m from Middlesbrough for striker Patrick Bamford. Bamford will undergo a medical with the club.

According to reports, the deal could rise up to £10m after add-ons. Chelsea recalled the player from Burnley where the 23-year old had very limited action as he played only 34 minutes of Premier League football this season.

He had earlier a brief stint with Boro when they were competing in the Championship. The youngster netted 19 goals for them in the 2014-15 season and was also adjudged the Championship player of the year for the Riverside club.

The youngster was signed from Nottingham Forest for £1.5m in January 2012 and is set to leave the club without appearing for them a single time.

He has 18 months left on his Chelsea contract and will compete with Alvaro Negredo and Rudy Gestede, who was also a winter signing, for a place in the Boro starting lineup.
