The Spaniard has impressed this season having already scored 14 goals in the Premier League so far. The striker now earns a £150,000 per week but wants a double hike from his current wage.
Chelsea are set to open talks with him over a contract extension and are expected to offer him wages in the range of £225,000 a week. He was the subject of a bid from Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian. They were ready to offer a staggering £30m a year for the services of the player.
