Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on Lucas Perez after the striker scored a delightful volley against Bournemouth. Perez scored Arsenal’s second goal as the visitors staged a miraculous comeback.

Perez netted home an outrageous volley after Olivier Giroud laid him with a cheeky flick. This was his first goal in the Premier League since his arrival from Deportivo La Coruna.

Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud also registered their names on the scoresheet as the Gunners came back from three goals down. Perez made his seventh appearance only in the League as Wenger has been preferring Alexis Sanchez up front.

Wenger said, “Perez came on and had an exceptional game.

“I think Perez scored an exceptional goal of pure class.

“All our players are important. I said before that Giroud can score important goals and he’s done that again because when we play into the box he’s dangerous. And Perez too.

“Giroud again scored because we dominated and he can score a header. Look, we have mixed feelings after a game like that.
