Jimmy Durmaz is confident that Zlatan Ibrahimović will be a hit at Manchester United. United signed the talismanic striker from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Zlatan started his United career brilliantly as he scored the winner in United’s Community Shield win over Leicester City. He was also on target in United’s first two Premier league games against Bournemouth and Southampton but after that had a dry run of spell as he couldn’t score until the match against Swansea.
Zlatan scored brace in United’s 3-1 win over Swansea but won’t be able to play the next match against Arsenal as he picked up five yellow cards that meant an automatic suspension.
Durmaz said, “At this moment in time, Manchester United are struggling. But I know him, he’s going to tear it up “The team just needs to get going, and he’ll show everyone there they were wrong about him. So, he could then hang up his boots, and everyone will regret it.”
Zlatan announced his retirement after the Euro 2016. He is Sweden’s all-time top scorer with 62 goals in his tally. Durmaz further added, “If he wants to return to the national team, it will come from him.
“I respect his decision and in a way I understand it. He wants to do things his way. He always told us that he wanted to stop at his best.
“He retired from international football at the top. I’m certain it will be the same for him with his club career,” he said.
