Manchester United have spent a whopping £150m in the transfer market but Jose Mourinho is not really impressed with his defence. He now wants to sign Everton defender Seamus Coleman to bolster his defence.
Former manager David Moyes tried to sign him in 2013 when he was the manager of The Red Devils. United right now have Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian as right backs. Mourinho has been using Valencia from the start of the season as he doesn’t rate Darmian higher. The Italian defender has been linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Valencia, 31 doesn’t possess the defensive intuition that the Premier League demands. United’s primary target is Monaco’s Fabinho. But if they failed to sign him then Coleman could be an alternate option.
Coleman has a contract till 2019 and has a price tag of £25m. He has been one of Everton’s standout performers and the Toffees could offer a new contract to him to fend off interests from Manchester United.
