The tenth game week in the Premier League took place this weekend and it was an entertaining one. 24 goals have been scored so far before Stoke City take on Swansea City on tonight. The current top-four Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all won their games while Spurs had another frustrating draw.
Manchester United’s misery continued as they had to settle for just a 0-0 draw against Burnley despite having so many chances to score. Tom Heaton will be a player United fans will hate after his heroics against the Red Devils saving quite a few that looked destined for the net.
Here are five talking points from the game week.
Goals, goals and goals
Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool- the current top three who share the same points after 10 games all scored four this weekend. Manchester City ended their six-game winless run with a 4-0 win against West Brom while Sunderland were thrashed 4-1 by Arsenal. Liverpool traveled to Crystal Palace which many saw as a game where they could falter. They did falter defensively but they outscored the Eagles to win the game 4-2. With things heating up, the competitiveness of the league is coming to the fore as the top sides are separated by mere goal difference.
Burnley did a Manchester United
Burnley did the same thing to Manchester United that the Red Devils tend to do against big teams. The Clarets played a low block against the hosts and claimed one crucial point from Old Trafford.
Manchester United had 37 shots but only 11 of them were on target. Tom Heaton pulled off some excellent saves to deny United who endured a frustrating afternoon. Zlatan Ibrahimović was thwarted on numerable occasions to the crowd’s astonishment as Heaton was virtually impenetrable on the day.
