Atletico Madrid are considering offering a new contract to forward Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian was signed from Monaco on a 5-year contract in 2015 and has developed into an important player for the Rojiblancos.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has set his eye on the winger and wants to trigger his release clause which is believed to be £35m. He scored in last season’s Champions League final which Atletico went on to lose.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is planning a huge expenditure in the upcoming window and wants to bring a host of players as Conte is planning a squad overhaul. The 23-year old has a contract till 2020 and is also a regular in the Belgium team.
Chelsea are currently seventh in the League table. His fellow countrymen Eden Hazard has been struggling from the last season and has netted two goals in the ongoing season.
It was earlier reported that Conte is ready to offer Hazard as a part of a swap deal to bring Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus. Carrasco is reportedly happy at Spain and the Spanish club are ready to tie him down to a new contract to fend off interest from other clubs.
