The Gunners will take on Swansea City at The Emirates on Saturday, October 15th for their latest round of matches in the Premier League. Arsenal are one of the in-form teams in the league at the moment with 5 wins from their last 5 matches. The Swans, on the other hand, are in a free fall, losing their last 3 games and 4 of their last 5 with a draw in the other.

The Gunners will hope for a win as it seems to be the most likely result given the form of both the teams but in the Premier League, it’s never easy to predict the outcome. Let’s take a look at the possible first XI the hosts can field on the day.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

No surprises in this department as Petr Cech would be the obvious choice and is all but confirmed to be under the bar against Swansea.

Right Back

Hector Bellerin will be the right back for the game as he will look to carry on his impressive run of form this season

Central Defender

New signing Shkodran Mustafi should be the stationed at the heart of the defence again after impressing with his performances since his arrival from Valencia

Central Defender

Arsenal’s captain and leader Laurent Koscielny will be the man to partner Mustafi at the heart of the defence and look for another clean sheet from the game.

Left Back

Nacho Monreal has made the left back spot his own for some time now and the Spaniard would be the one playing in his position on Saturday

Defensive Midfielder

Santi Cazorla should be back in his familiar deep-lying role as the team would look to him to orchestrate things from the deep midfield providing the thrust in the forward play.

Defensive Midfielder

Granit Xhaka is likely to play alongside Cazorla against Swansea. The Swiss international would be tasked to protect his back four and also keep things ticking with his effective passing.

Left Winger/Midfielder

Alex Iwobi has been in fine form this season and he will be getting another start in the Premier League on Saturday to play on the left-hand channel

Attacking Midfielder/ Playmaker

There were some fears of injury when Ozil was substituted at half-time in Germany’s last international game, but the player has confirmed that there’s nothing to worry about and will be starting in his favourite playmaker role once again against Swansea.

Right Winger/Midfielder

Theo Walcott has played well for Arsenal this season and the Englishman would be the one marshalling the right-hand flank for the hosts on Saturday.

Striker

Alexis Sanchez has been amongst the goals and assists and has made an impact as a striker in some games. He is likely to get another crack as a striker against the Swans.
