Should I Bring My Brolly?
The forecast tells us that there should be sufficient cloud cover, with a breezy 33 kmph blowing in from the South East. A pleasant 17 C, outside, should be a perfect day for some footie.

Team News
Big guns Adam Lallana, James Milner, Genie Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane are all expected to slot back into the Liverpool line-up; while Ragnar Klavan, and Loris Karius could retain their places after an emphatic midweek win over Derby County. Daniel Sturridge may sit out for this match after missing out on training with a slight knock.
Jake Livermore could feature after serving a one-match suspension. New recruits David Marshall, Will Keane, James Weir, Ryan Mason, Markus Henriksen, and Dieumerci Mbokani played a telling part in their English League Cup victory vs Stoke City away from home, and would hope for a start at Anfield.
The Form Book
In the last competitive matches, Hull City have won one, lost one and drawn one. It was Robert Snodgrass’ heroics that saved the Tigers from the blushes as they initially went down to a Steven Defour strike vs Burnley in the league. On game-week 5, they were pounded to a pulp by Arsenal, losing 1-4. An understrength side managed to get a win away at Stoke City, in the English league cup, which would give Mike Phelan’s skeleton crew side a lot of heart.
Liverpool have powered through their last 3 games, with back-to-back-to-back wins against Leicester City [4-1], Chelsea [1-2] and Derby County [0-3]. Playing again in front of their newly invigorated home crowd, they will have all the momentum coupled with the incentive they’d have to put on a show for their supporters.
What To Expect
Juergen Klopp would be drumming into his players the advantages of starting strongly, and rattling the cagey visitors. The home side would be looking for that early goal to send them on their way, while Mike Phelan’s well-drilled team would be putting bodies behind the ball to avoid just that. The longer Liverpool are kept out from the Hull City net, nervier the supporters will become, more shall the pressure mount.
There will be a few interesting battles in the offing, with rip-roaring Robert Snodgrass looking to hoodwink and impressing James Milner, who will be shoehorned into the left-back slot yet again. Sadio Mane would be testing the young Scot, Andrew Robertson at left-back. The Senegalese has been in prime form, his disdain for opponents for when he’s on the ball, has made some of the Anfield old guards, drawing parallels to one of their greatest – John Barnes.
Prediction
2-2
