If rumours are to be believed, Manchester United are planning a major swoop for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. United reportedly are set to offer £42million to secure the service of the Spanish centre back.
Ramos was linked heavily with United in 2015 but had signed a contract with Madrid which runs till 2020. United had offered David De Gea in a deal which would have sent Ramos to United.
United recently signed Eric Bailly from Villareal for £30m and although Bailly has been impressive, Mourinho was not happy with the defensive performances of late and wants to sign the Spaniard to strengthen the defence.
Mourinho had an ugly spat with the 30-year old defender over his treatment of Iker Casillas. Madrid signed Ramos from Sevilla for € 27m and the Spanish has been a integral part of the Madrid Central defence. It won’t be easy for Mourinho to lure the defender to Old Trafford who has 138 caps for Spain and is a fan-favourite ar the Spanish capital.
