Wayne Rooney has found a new supporter in Former Manchester United winger Nani. According to Nani, Rooney still has a lot to give.
Rooney was awful in this season having scored one goal in seven matches. He failed to impress in his side’s 3-1 win over Northampton Town. Rooney was signed from Everton in 2004 but seemed to have lost his touch and many feel he is past his peak. Nani believes that the Striker will be soon at his best, “Rooney is a special player. Strong, fantastic quality, shooting, vision – very intelligent. “I enjoyed playing with him. He is a player who is a big part of Man Utd. He has the chance to improve that and build his story.”
There has been a huge question mark over Rooney’s place in the starting eleven as some of the ex-players also said that the English man doesn’t deserve a place in the Starting XI.
Not only Rooney, Paul Pogba who was recently signed by Juventus has been struggling to replicate his old form. But Nani is confident that the French midfielder will be back in form. “A lot of clubs wanted him, there were rumours that other clubs would get him.
“When he went back I was happy. He knows the club well and will be a star at the club.”
