Everton had a surprisingly slow start to the transfer window but lately, we have seen the Toffees hitting the top gear in the transfer market in order to have a strong enough squad before the transfer window slams closed. The Merseyside club have made four signings this summer in the form of Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Yannick Bolasie and Ashley Williams while John Stones moved out of Goodison Park.

We can expect the Toffees to conclude a few more deals before the transfer window closes and if reports from The Daily Star are to be believed, Everton are all set to launch a bid for Porto star Yacine Brahimi. The Algerian international has attracted interest from a number of top Premier League clubs in recent months thanks his series of excellent displays for Porto and it would be a major statement of intent from Everton if they can wrap up the signature of the 26-year-old.

Strengths

There are very few players in the world who can trump the Algerian’s insane dribbling skills. The 26-year-old is virtually unplayable of his day. Although he is most effective as a left winger, Brahimi can be deployed as a number ten or even as a right winger too. He likes to drift inside like most modern-day wingers and can create a brilliant partnership with Romelu Lukaku. Blessed with a brilliant close control and an amazing vision, the Algerian international knows when to release the ball and can terrify any defence in the world.

Weaknesses

Brahimi is a gifted player and we have seen that they can be the most individualistic players around. Not everyone is Lionel Messi! Brahimi needs to cut short his selfishness to become a success in the Premier League. Another thing he needs to work on is his inconsistency. Now aged 26, Brahimi is entering his peak years and under the stewardship of Koeman, he can be one of the best players in the Premier League.

Opportunities

Every player in the world dreams about playing in the Premier League and Brahimi will definitely love the opportunity given by Everton. A club with big ambitions guided by an experienced gaffer like Koeman, Everton can achieve big things in the future and Brahimi can be one of the pivotal players in making that happen.

Threats

The only threat the deal poses is Brahimi’s lack of Premier League experience. We have seen plenty of top performers from foreign leagues struggling to find their usual self in the Premier League and Brahimi can also face the same fortune.
