Leicester City are set to miss on one of their key targets as talkSPORT claims Napoli are ready to replace Gonzalo Higuain with Polish international Arkadiusz Milik. Everton and the Premier League holders were both interested in the 22-year-old as per talkSPORT and they have to look for alternatives to the Polish forward.

Leicester City did not have much trouble finding the back of the net last season thanks to the sensational forms of Vardy and Mahrez but with Champions League football this season, Ranieri needs better strikers than Ulloa or Okazaki to partner Vardy up front. New signing Ahmed Musa is not an out and out number nine, he likes to operate mostly from the wide areas.

In this article, we will look at three strikers the Foxes could look for this summer to ensure that they have enough goals in the team next season.

Saido Berahino

The 22-year-old is desperate to put an end to his West Brom career. The Baggies somehow managed to retain him last summer despite strong interest from elsewhere but playing hardball, this time, could cost them big time as the Englishman has just one year remaining on his contract. A proven Premier League goalscorer and someone who is quick and mobile up front- ticks all the boxes Ranieri wants from his strikers. Leicester City could definitely make a move for the Englishman. They do not have too many English players in their squad and the addition of Berahino would give them an English premium.

Alexandre Lacazette

The 25-year-old has been one of the standout performers in Ligue 1 for years now. In the 2014-15 season, he became the Ligue 1 leading goalscorer. Lacazette needs to move to a bigger club now and Leicester now are a much bigger club compared to Lyon thanks to their surprise Premier League win last season. 76 goals in his last three seasons- Lacazette’s records speaks for how good a striker he is. The Frenchman would be a perfect signing from the Foxes as his style of play will complement Vardy in the perfect manner.

Mario Balotelli

Granted, Balotelli hasn’t had the best of times but under the tutelage of Ranieri, he could finally find some love that he has sorely lacked since playing under another Italian, Roberto Mancini. Balotelli still has a lot of football in him and is yet to enter the peak age for strikers. It would be a gamble, but knowing well what he is capable of, Leicester should take a shot at him.
