Aston Villa Set To Retain This Key Star From Last Season:...

Rohit Sarkar - August 17, 2025 0
Aston Villa have made their presence felt strongly in the Premier League in the last few seasons. The team's mentality has changed after Unai Emery's arrival. They will be playing in the Europa League next season, after playing in the Champions League last season and are now trying to make a permanent place in the top-6 of the Premier League. The club have retained their core players and created its new identity - a team that can challenge any big club. Aston Villa are no longer just a mid-table club. They are now preparing players who can change the face of the Premier League in the future. Meanwhile, one name comes to the fore - Morgan Rogers. This forward from Manchester City's academy fits perfectly into Emery's system at Villa Park. Last season, he gave such a performance that caught everyone's attention. Chelsea's interest and demand that Aston Villa are making Football Insider reports that Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca considers Morgan Rogers a 'dream signing' and has recommended that the club should bring him in. However, Aston Villa's demand has made things difficult for Chelsea. The club have valued Rogers at over £80 million. Rogers has another five years left on his contract, giving Villa a strong position in the deal. Rogers' key traits are his pace, getting right into attacking spaces and ability to consistently trouble the opposition defence. Emery has turned him into a player who can turn the match around at a critical moment. Chelsea think Rogers will fit into Maresca's system, but Villa do not want to let him go so easily. A decision taken in the right direction Aston Villa's stance is completely justified. Rogers is just 23, and his performance for Villa has consistently improved. Selling him now could hurt their project, especially when the player is playing a key role in Emery's plans. Villa are no longer in transition mode; they are moving towards stability. Keeping a player like Rogers would be a long-term decision. No matter how hard Maresca tries, if Chelsea don't come up with a lucrative deal, the transfer won't happen. Only strong decisions like these can make Aston Villa a permanent force in the Premier League.
