Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is attracting interest from a whole host of European clubs which includes Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window. According to recent reports, the 25-year-old winger has emerged as a potential transfer target for PSG after he put in some mesmerizing performances for the Reds this season.
It is being reported that the Merseyside club are now facing an uphill battle to keep hold of the Egyptian’s services this summer as some of the European giants are targeting a £200m mega raid of the Liverpool star. Salah has been in sensational form for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season and is currently leading the Premier League goalscoring charts with 28 goals to his name. He is in contention to win both the Premier League’s golden boot and the European golden shoe at the end of the season.
It is expected that Jurgen Klopp would have to reject a world record transfer fee of £200m to keep hold of his star player this summer. The Reds have recently parted ways with Phillipe Coutinho when the Brazilian completed his big-money switch to Barcelona during the January transfer window. Salah’s suitors are now hoping that the same would apply to the Egyptian as they get ready to clash heads on a bidding war at the end of the season.
The Reds are in the 3rd position in the top-flight standings after their magnificent 5-0 win over Watford on Saturday in which Salah scored four goals and grabbed one assist.
However, the Merseysiders are a massive 18 points behind league leaders Manchester City going into the final stretch of the season. Retaining some of their star players could turn out to be crucial if Jurgen Klopp’s side are to challenge for major trophies next season. The Merseysiders should do all they can to keep hold of Salah as they look to bridge the gap between themselves and the Manchester clubs in the coming years.
The Egyptian has featured in 41 matches for the Reds this season, scoring 36 goals while providing 12 assists in all competitions. He is one of the key reasons why Liverpool are in pole position to clinch a top 4 place while also challenging in the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League this season. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Salah and whether the Reds can keep hold of their prized asset for the near future.
