Leicester City cruised to a 4-1 win after trailing to a Salomon Rondon goal at the Hawthorns tonight. In a match that Leicester were considered favourites to win given West Brom’s terrible form, the Foxes certainly made their work tough for themselves by going down 1-0 to Alan Pardew’s side.
The hosts led with a brilliantly taken goal by Rondon who showed his physical prowess to finish the move. However, Leicester drew parity in the first half itself thanks to a fantastic bit of play from Leicester’s chief troublemakers, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.
Mahrez put through a brilliant ball over 40 yards and it fell right on Vardy’s feet. The Englishman had his back turned on goal but he took the long ball in his stride and instead of collecting the ball he went straight for the goal on the turn and finished it off thereby scoring the equalizer in swift moves from the centre line.
The second goal was another fantastic move from Leicester with Mahrez put through this time. The Algerian was fantastic throughout the match creating hell for West Brom from the wings. He was delicate inside the box with his touch and drew out the keeper before looping the custodian to give Leicester a 2-1 lead.
The third goal came from the new man Iheanacho who celebrated his first Premier League goal in a Leicester City shirt. It was made 4-1 in stoppage time with a solid header from Iborra in a corner.
