Leicester City are travelling to Hawthorns Stadium for their Premier League clash against West Brom on Saturday evening. The Foxes have undergone a season of multiple ups and downs but overall has improved upon their 12th place last season finish. Ever since they won the league 2 seasons back, their chances of a title challenge have been questionable.
However, Claude Puel has instilled a bit of stability into the squad and with Arsenal dredging along the season in poor form, hopes of a European qualification spot cannot be ruled out completely.
Alan Pardew’s men stay hopeful of a relegation escape. The Baggies are staged at the bottom of the Premier League table, 7 points behind Stoke City and Crystal Palace.
With just 9 games left in the season, Pardew will have to work out a miracle to bridge the gap and successfully dig the team out of the bottom three. This fixture will be a monumental task against a team who are placed in the 8th seed of the points table.
Albion’s chances of getting some points in this fixture will be favoured since City are currently on a 5-game winless streak. The last time these two sides met in the league was back in October and the match had ended 1-1 at the King Power Stadium.
Puel and the rest of the Leicester faithful were dealt out a mid-week scare after a false announcement of Riyad Mahrez retiring from the sport. The issue has been cleared up and the former Southampton boss will be eager to uplift the morale of the team by going up against a side who are on a 5-game losing streak.
Here is how the Foxes might lineup of matchday.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel is expected to get the nod for the starting XI. He is averaging 3 saves per game and is the number one choice ahead of Ben Hamer and Eldin Jakupovic.
Danny Simpson is the able replacement of the injured Daniel Amartey in the right-back position. Ben Chilwell should find himself fielded on the left.
Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan might pair up in the centre-back roles.
Midfield
Adrien Silva and Wilfred Ndidi are predicted starters in the holding midfield role. They should be flanked by Riyad Mahrez on the right and Marc Albrighton on the left.
Attack
Demarai Gray might start in the shadow striker role ahead of Shinji Okazaki. The 21-year-old has been impressive this season combining well with Jamie Vardy in the lone striker role.
