Watford forward Richarlison would consider a high profile switch out of Vicarage Road if the opportunity presents itself. According to recent reports, the Brazilian forward has revealed that he is open to making a move out of Hertfordshire if a lucrative offer comes in from another club and if such a move helped support his family.
Richarlison signed for Watford last summer from Fluminense for a fee in the region of £11m and has put in some eye-catching displays in the Premier League this season. His dazzling displays has gathered interest from a whole host of clubs which includes Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. He is reportedly on a £20,000 per week deal at Vicarage Road which could significantly increase if he decides to make a switch to one of the Premier League’s heavyweights.
In a recent interview, Richarlison addressed his plans for the future and was quoted to have said, “Look, everybody wants financial security for their family, and when a player says otherwise, he’s lying. If I play at a really high level, opportunities will come my way.
“But right now my mind is focused on Watford. I will raise my level. I think about playing in the Champions League and being the top scorer in the Premier League.”
The Brazilian has made 32 appearances for the Hornets this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 5 assists in all competitions.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently in 4th place in the Premier League standings, just five points above fifth-placed Chelsea with just 9 league matches remaining this term. The North London outfit are hoping to finish in the top 4 so that they can ensure Champions League football for the next campaign. They secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory at home courtesy of a Heung-Min Son brace versus Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
However, Spurs are still a staggering 20 points behind the league leaders Manchester City and are in need dire need to bring in some fresh faces next summer in order to bridge the gap between themselves and the Manchester clubs in the coming years. The addition of Richarlison will undoubtedly bolster Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking options for the new campaign. The Brazilian is just 20-year-old and has the potential to develop into a Premier League star which Spurs could look to utilise in the coming years.
He is also highly versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the frontline. He can play on either flank or as a centre-forward which makes him an ideal asset for any of his potential suitors. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Richarlison and whether he ends up making a switch to North London in the near future.
