After yet another disappointing result, this time at Turf Moor, Sam Allardyce’s Everton are just not able to find any momentum this season but they are far away from danger and it does not come as a surprise that they are already planning for the next season.
A number of star players have failed to kick off their season at Goodison Park and Allardyce is now determined to add some flair to their lineup at the end of the season. A number of exciting names are constantly linked with a move to the club and one name that continues to do the rounds is Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
A transfer target for Arsenal and Everton even in the January transfer window, Brozovic has not been able to establish himself in the first team at Inter Milan this season and was close to an exit in January. However, Inter Milan, who decided to keep him until the end of the season, are now prepared to let him leave and have quoted their price for the playmaker.
According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Inter Milan are ready to let him leave for around €20m, which is on the lower side in the current transfer market. So should Everton make a move for him in the summer?
Capable of playing on the wing, the 25-year old is an attacking midfielder with gifted technique. He has three goals and four assists in 10 Serie A starts this season and has been influential in most games he has started for the side. But he is not a part of the best XI that Inter Milan can field and is expected to be sold to free up some funds.
He is a strong and confident player, who can hold up play, create chances for his side and test the keeper from long range. He is also productive over a dead ball and is a player that could walk into most sides in England.
He has attributes that will make him a hit in England and will also be a good fit in Allardyce’s system, thanks to his discipline in the midfield.
The Toffees have Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen, and even Wayne Rooney, who can all play in a similar role but Brozovic brings a different dimension to the game, that could help Everton in tough games. His price makes him a risk worth taking but do you think Everton should look at a more established star?
