Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is attracting interest from a whole host of clubs which include the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup which kicks off later this year. According to recent reports, the French ace has not shown any indication of penning a new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford with a number of teams ready to pounce if he decides to leave the Manchester outfit in the near future.
Some sources have claimed that Martial is currently ‘at a standstill’ after talks about a potential new deal with the Red Devils have stalled. He is currently contracted at the club until the summer of 2019, with an option to extend his stay for a further year but United are looking to offer him a new deal which could certainly help appease everyone involved.
It is believed that both Spurs and Inter Milan are monitoring his situation while the Galacticos could also join in on the hunt for his services with their Welsh winger Gareth Bale also on United’s radar so a possible swap deal might be on the cards.
It is being reported that the French international’s agent has already met with Manchester United chiefs in December last year but nothing has materialized between the two parties since then. The arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer has added competition for places at Old Trafford which means that he is not guaranteed a starting place under Jose Mourinho anymore. Hence, a move out of Manchester might not be too far-fetched with the striker looking to play regular football to continue with his development.
At 22, the French ace still has his peak years ahead of him which any of his potential suitors could look to utilize if they can convince United to part ways with their prized asset. The ex-AS Monaco youngster has featured in 38 matches for the Red Devils this season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions. He is also highly versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the frontline. He can play on either wing or as a centre-forward up top which makes him an ideal asset for any team looking to acquire his services.
For now, it seems that he is settled in Manchester but could flourish with more game time in the near future. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Anthony Martial and whether he ends up leaving Old Trafford in search of fresh adventures.
