Elland Road witnessed its famous team get it’s first won under the new manager Paul Heckingbottom as Liam Cooper’s vital header enabled Leeds to triumph over Brentford. In a match which provided very little in terms of football ended up by providing Leeds with a huge boost in terms of confidence. Here’s how the players have been rated today:-
Leeds United Players Rated And Slated
GK: Felix Weidwald – 7/10
Saved a good volley from Egland and he looked in control. Distribution and confidence looked really healthy as well.
RB: Gaetano Berardi – 7/10
Hardly made any errors and had a firm grip on the right flank.
CB: Pontus Janssen – 7/10
He was brilliant aerially tonight and read the game well on most occasions. A positive display.
CB : Liam Cooper – 7.5/10
Tried his best to compliment Janssen but he did look a bit rusty. The goal will do him a huge favour and as a captain, he needed that.
LB: Vurnon Anita – 5.5/10
Probably the most vulnerable player at the back. His passes were awkward and inaccurate. He really has to step up and reassure a lot of people.
CM: Eunan O’Kane – 6.5/10
Pressed well and fought for the team. Decent but important.
CM: Kalvin Phillips – 6/10
Didn’t look like it was his day really. Average and he committed a lot of fouls. Should compliment Eunan better and steady himself.
CAM: Samuel Saiz – 7/10
He was fouled repeatedly and it was really frustrating for Leeds. He looked enthusiastic and tried to build an attack almost every time he got the chance.
RM: Stuart Dallas – 7/10
His role and switching of the flanks seemed really interesting today and his work ethic was fantastic. It’s going to be interesting as to how Heckingbottom uses him in the near future.
LM: Ezgjan Alioski – 6/10
Needs to be a bit more productive and tidy.
FW: Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 6/10
Didn’t get a decent delivery at all today and it looked a bit better after the break. The biggest highlight of the game was of him beating three defenders and almost scoring.
Substitutes:-
FW: Caleb Ekuban – 6/10
Came on a little late and couldn’t do much.
Hadi Sacko – N/A
Ronaldo Vieira – N/A
