West Ham United will travel to Merseyside to take on a free-scoring Liverpool side at Anfield looking to build on their 2-0 win against Watford last week. The Hammers returned back to winning ways versus the Hornets in the last Premier League gameweek and will now hope to cause an upset when they take on the Reds in what promises to be an entertaining game of football on Saturday.
However, it won’t be easy as the Merseyside outfit have won their last two fixtures in all competitions and come into this clash at the back of a 5-0 demolition of FC Porto in the Champions League. Jurgen Klopp’s men can’t stop scoring so it is expected that the Hammers need to find the back of the net at Anfield to have any chance of getting something out of the match.
The recent history of the fixture makes a grim reading for the East London outfit as they have not won in any of their last three meetings with the Reds, losing two and drawing one of those matches during that time. David Moyes is expected to opt for a 3-5-1-1 formation and stick with the same starting eleven that faced off versus Watford in their last league outing.
3-5-1-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Adrian is set to start in goal for the Hammers once again with the Spanish keeper keeping only one clean sheet in their last five games in all competitions. James Collins, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell will make up the three men defence.
West Ham United boss David Moyes will be hoping for a solid defensive display at Anfield to give themselves the best possible chance of securing a result on Saturday.
Midfield
The trio of Mark Noble, Joao Mario and Cheikhou Kouyate is expected to start at the centre of the park with Pablo Zabaleta taking his place on the right flank while Michail Antonio starts on the left-hand side of the midfield. They will be tasked to create some chances and score the goals that will make the difference on the day.
Attack
David Moyes might deploy Marko Arnautovic as part of the Hammers’ attack as he plays off the shoulders of Javier Hernandez, who will lead the lines for the visitors on Saturday. The Mexican forward would be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet versus Liverpool after finding the back of the net in his last league outing versus Watford.
