Chelsea have been made favourites to sign Manchester City outcast goalkeeper Joe Hart. The bookies have placed the move at a 9/4 making them highly probable to snap up Hart. It is believed West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also in the run for the England international.
The West Ham goalkeeper who is on loan goalkeeper from Manchester City has faced a frustrating time in England ever since the arrival of Pep Guardiola. Constantly shifting clubs has affected his form and with the 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup coming up, Hart would not want to damage his limited prospects of playing for England by fluffing up the limited chances he gets at West Ham.
Pep’s arrival to Manchester City saw him being forced out of the club due to lack of game time. This season he was supposed to be the number one at West Ham United but the English custodian has lost his player to Adrian. Moyes has preferred to use the Spaniard in goal leaving Hart seeking new pastures.
With hopes of a World Cup berth now looking bleak, the 30-year-old will hope to get a renewal of his career at Chelsea, should the West London club calling. It is believed that the Stamford Bridge outfit is contemplating life without their current number one Thibaut Courtois and want to bring in Hart as a replacement for the Belgian.
Chelsea custodian Thibaut Courtois has come out to the media claiming that his heart lies in Madrid. With the situation at Stamford Bridge already close to exploding yet again after a title-winning season, the Blues goalkeeper has now added further fuel to the fire by expressing his heart’s desire to return to Madrid one day.
“My personal situation is related to the city of Madrid,” he said. “My two children live there with their mum. I have my daughter every day on FaceTime. She often tells me that she misses me. My son is still too small to communicate like that.”
“Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to return to Spain. As a situation, it is not always easy. Yes, my heart is in Madrid. It is logical and understandable.”
Although Chelsea maybe resigned to losing Courtois, they will be sure to get a premium value for him and should ideally replace him with an equally apt keeper and not someone of Hart’s age and quality. The England international, despite his best effort, is simply not a keeper to be playing for a top side in England anymore.
