Antonio Conte’s men came through as 4-0 winners on the night against Hull City in the 5th round of the FA Cup fixtures. Chelsea had an extremely easy time with the Blues running riot at the Stamford Bridge. They scored all their goals in the first half and had the match wrapped up by the end of the hour mark. They conceded a sloppy penalty and were lucky to escape unpunished for it with a good save from Willy Caballero.
With the Barcelona match coming up, Conte rested most of his first-team players including the Belgian ace Eden Hazard. This is how the makeshift team performed on the night.
Chelsea Player Ratings-
Willy Caballero: 7
A penalty saved on the night. Made a couple of crucial saves to keep his clean sheet.
Davide Zappacosta: 6
A little bit of this and a little bit of that, and not a lot of anything. This typically sums up the Italian’s performance on the night. Could have had a goal but it was saved well by the Hull City goalkeeper.
Ethan Ampadu: 7
The boy with the eccentric hairstyle has been extremely impressive and added another feather to his cap tonight.
Gary Cahill: 6.5
An easy night for the Chelsea captain after a couple of torrid performances.
Antonio Rudiger: 7
A strong and physical shift put in by the German. He was solid at the back
Emerson: 7
An impressive debut from the Brazilian with an assist for Olivier Giroud
Danny Drinkwater: 6.5
Controlled the midfield well and showed time and again why he should be preferred to Tiemoue Bakayoko
Cesc Fabregas: 6
A stylish but subdued performance from the Spaniard. He conceded a lazy penalty in the second half
Pedro: 5.5
The Spaniard needs to understand the concept of balance and composure. He’s got all the technical skills as he showed with the goal but his mental acuity on the pitch is lesser than a child.
William: 9
The man of the match on the night, he scored two and could have had many more. He was simply unplayable and was by far the best player on the night.
Olivier Giroud: 7.5
A goal and an assist for the new man. He scored a stylish goal to consolidate Chelsea’s position.
