Everton are lining up a move for PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn next summer. According to a report by ESPN FC, the Toffees are set to go head to head with Tottenham Hotspur in pursuit of the Dutch youngster’s signature. A number of Europe’s elite clubs have been monitoring his progress and are aware of Bergwijn’s immense potential with the Dutch winger finding the back of the net five times and providing six assists in 22 matches to help his club go seven points clear at the top of the Eredivisie standings.
Some sources are now claiming that PSV Eindhoven are preparing themselves for offers in the summer with foreign clubs looking to seal a move for Bergwijn’s services. It looks increasingly likely that the Premier League could be the 20-year-old’s next destination. The Merseyside club are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign after a disappointing season so far this term, and the potential signing of Bergwijn fits the club’s transfer policy of going for young, promising young players who can develop into Premier League stars in the future.
Bergwijn is highly versatile and can operate on either wing which makes him a useful asset for any club.
