Manchester United are close to finalising a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Isco next summer. According to recent reports coming out of Manchester, the Red Devils are getting closer to acquiring the services of the Spaniard with the club finalising negotiations with the Spanish giants. The Red Devils are eager to bolster their attacking options in the summer transfer window with United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly interested in securing the services of the 25-year-old Madrid star. Although the Portuguese manager has previously revealed that he has no plans to add any more attacking options at the end of the campaign, yet some sources are claiming that Mourinho would find such a proposed deal irresistible.
It is believed that a potential deal for Isco moving to the Manchester club have been approved by Los Blancos president Florentino Perez as he is eager to generate funds for the potential acquisitions of Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan and Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
It is also being suggested that the Galacticos superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has given his approval to the proposed transfer with the Portuguese winger believing that Isco must be frustrated with the current squad at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Manchester United are currently sitting in second place in the Premier League table with a tally of 56 points in 26 league matches. In any other campaign, Jose Mourinho’s team would be well in contention of winning the league but the record-breaking form of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City has seen them fall behind in the race for the league title. The Citizens of Manchester are leading the Premier League by a mammoth 16 points with the Red Devils desperately trying to play catch up with their ‘noisy neighbours’.
The addition of a world-class talent like Isco will undoubtedly bolster Jose Mourinho’s attacking options at Old Trafford ahead of the new campaign. He will potentially add a lot of goals and assists from the midfield as evidenced by his performances in recent seasons. The 25-year-old has featured in 32 matches for the reigning European champions this season, scoring 7 goals and providing 6 assists in all competitions. The Spaniard has already won the Champions League thrice among other major trophies in Spain so he will bring in a winning mentality at Old Trafford if the Reds are able to secure his services in the summer.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the Spanish international and whether United can swoop in for his signature next summer.
