Paul Pogba who has recently Joined Manchester United from Seria A giant Juventus for a world-record fee of €105 million has been under severe criticism as he failed to replicate his form with Juventus. Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes thinks that playing with Michael Carrick could be the solution.
“He’s not the greatest controller of a football game,” Scholes said.
The French international played alongside the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira at Juve last season.
“You have to remember he came from a brilliant team at Juventus. Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio could control the game and let him go and do his thing.
“I would like to see Carrick with him. He can direct him and tell him where to go.”
Pogba played as a no 10 against Feyenoord with Ander Herrera and Morgan Schneiderlin in the holding midfield role. United lost the match 1-0.
Carrick has not played since the Community Shield win against Leicester City but is expected to play a part. Carrick had signed a one-year contract extension with United. The French international played alongside the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira at Juve last season.
