According to recent reports in the English media, the Eagles are closing in on the United States international before the transfer window comes to a close when the clock strikes midnight tonight. It is believed that Roy Hodgson’s side are seriously considering a move for the Potters centre-back in what could turn out to be an audacious deadline day attempt and are willing to provide Cameron with an escape route to ply his trade at Selhurst Park.
Some sources have recently claimed that Palace were among three Premier League clubs interested in sealing a move for the USA international, along with West Ham United and Newcastle United. The 32-year-old has featured in 16 matches for the Potters in all competitions but is yet to score so far. He is highly versatile and can play in a number of positions across the backline.
He can play as a holding midfielder as well which makes him an ideal asset for Palace if they manage to secure his services in the near future.
