Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Bosnian international Haris Duljevic. According to recent reports in the German media, the Villans has sent scouts to catch the winger in action recently. It is being reported that Aston Villa scouts watched the Bundesliga 2 player in action during his side Dynamo Dresden’s 3-1 home defeat at the hands of St Pauli on Thursday. The 24-year-old left winger came off the bench to feature for 55 minutes in that clash but was unable to change the fate of the contest.
Duljevic is highly versatile and primarily operates on the left flank, he can also play on the right wing or in the number 10 position. The Bosnian and Herzegovina international has featured in 8 matches for his home nation and put in some eye-catching displays for Dynamo Dresden in this campaign which has also caught the attention of Bundesliga club, Hamburg. He signed from FC Sarajevo in the summer transfer window last year and his current contract with the Dynamo Dresden runs until the summer of 2020. However, recent reports in Germany claim that he is unlikely to leave the club in this transfer period.
Villa sealed their first signing of the winter transfer window on Thursday when they secured the services of Axel Tuanzebe on loan from Manchester United and the West Midlands club’s chief executive Keith Wyness has suggested that the club has already started to build their squad for next season.
Steve Bruce’s side are in fantastic form in the English Championship and currently find themselves in 4th place in the league table, with a tally of 50 points in 28 league matches. They are well on their way to secure a playoffs spot at the end of the current campaign but Steve Bruce could look to push his players to try and chase down second-placed Derby County in their quest to earn an automatic promotion into the Premier League.
The potential addition of Duljevic to the Villans midfield could give his side another dimension going forward as the West Midlands outfit look to build for a bigger and brighter future under the guidance of manager Steve Bruce.
Duljevic has featured in 17 matches for Dynamo Dresden this season, scoring a goal and providing three assists across all competitions. Although his record in this campaign has not been impressive, yet with better quality around him at Villa Park, it is expected that he will be able to step up to the plate and help bang in the goals for the Villans. It remains to be seen if Aston Villa are successful in their efforts to lure Dulijevic to Villa Park in the near future.
