Liverpool will take on West Bromwich Albion at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday night. The Merseyside club suffered a bitter 1-0 away defeat at the Liberty Stadium against Swansea City in the Premier League last Monday and will be looking to bounce back against another relegation-threatened team in the FA Cup. Jurgen Klopp’s men recently won against Everton in the third round to set up this clash against the Baggies at home. The German manager would be hoping that complacency doesn’t set in and his players can do the job and secure the victory on the night.
Meanwhile, West Brom earned a well-deserved score draw in their last trip to Merseyside in Gameweek 24 when they held Everton at Goodison Park. Alan Pardew would be hoping that his side can repeat a similar kind of performance versus a rather dejected Liverpool team, who lost to Swansea City in their last outing in the Premier League.
The recent history of the fixture does not make a good reading for the Baggies as they have not won in any of their last nine meetings versus the Reds of Merseyside. Klopp is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and give Lallana a start in his first-team.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion
Defence
Simon Mignolet might start in goal in place of Loris Karius and will be protected by a back four of Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip in central defence while Andrew Robertson starts in the left-back position and Trent Alexander-Arnold operates on the right-hand side of the defence.
The Reds defence has kept a clean sheet in each of their last two meetings with the Baggies and Klopp will be hoping that his back four can keep it tight at the back on Saturday night as well.
Midfield
The trio of James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana could be deployed at the centre of the park and the performance of all three men will be key if Liverpool are to break down a dogged West Brom defence at Anfield.
Lallana is still making his way back to full fitness and this could be the game when he puts in his best performance of the season.
Attack
The front three would consist of Sadio Mane on the left flank, Mohamed Salah looking to cause havoc on the right side while Dominic Solanke operating inside the West Brom box. Klopp might rest Roberto Firmino for this contest and hand Solanke a rare start up top for the Reds.
