Liverpool are set to admit defeat in pursuit of Bayer 04 Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt after the Bundesliga star decided to sign a new deal with the German club. According to recent reports in the English press, the Reds are set to miss out on the 21-year-old’s services with the German winger ready to pen a new contract with his current club. Brandt, who is also a reported target for the current Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, has been linked with a move abroad as his contract has a clause which would allow him to depart for as little as £11m.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen are desperate to make him sign a new contract and according to a report in the German media, it looks like their wishes would come true as the German international is set to prolong his stay at the club by signing a new long-term deal which will remove the problematic release clause in his contract. Bailey is a teammate of Brandt and has done well at the German club this term. Iñaki Williams
The 23-year-old Athletic Bilbao midfielder has put in some great performances for his club in this campaign and has shown signs of his brilliance in sparks during this La Liga season. The Spaniard has found the back of the net 7 times and made 5 assists in 30 games for Bilbao in all competitions so far. At 23, he still has his peak years ahead of him which Liverpool could look to capitalise on if they can sign him up this month.
