What a run Manchester City are in at the moment. Since Pep Guardiola’s arrival in the summer, the Cityzens have won each and every game in all competitions, have scored as many as 21 goals and have having let in just four. Eddie Howe’s side will be massive underdogs heading to Etihad on Saturday. The Sky Blues are on the back of a 2-1 win over local rivals Manchester United in the Manchester derby and gained further momentum with a 4-0 emphatic win over German giants Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.
Manchester City will be looking for another goal-rout when they take on the Cherries on Saturday and it will take something really special from Eddie Howe’s side to stop them. Eddie Howe’s side are 14th at the moment with four points from four games and are on the back of a 1-0 win against West Brom. They have won just one game this season losing twice and drawing one but will be keen to come up with an upset against the league leaders.
Here is the predicted Bournemouth lineup against Manchester City
Defence
Artur Boruc will start under the bar ahead of Adam Federici. The back four is likely to be unchanged from Eddie Howe. Adam Smith and Charlie Daniels should keep their places in the full-back positions while Simon Francis and Steve Cook should remain as the centre-back pairing. The back four has to come up with an inspiring performance if they hope to stop the Cityzens from running away with the game.
Midfield
Bournemouth’s Deadline day capture from Arsenal, Jack Wilshere, is likely to start his first game for the Cherries and will be looking to impress as Howe is likely to deploy him in an advanced role. Andrew Surman and Harry Arter are likely to start as a double pivot in midfield and Wilshere will start in front of them as an advanced playmaker. The English international will be keen to make a strong impact as he features against mighty Manchester City.
Attack
Young Jordon Ibe and Joshua King are likely to start on the flanks. Ibe is yet to make his impact for the South Coast side and this will be his big opportunity.
Callum Wilson finally scored his first goal this season for the Cherries last week against West Bromwich Albion. The fleet-footed English forward will spearhead the attack for the team against Manchester City.
